

Mary Rose St. Angelo Lofton Denicola, 89, was born August 27, 1931, to Michael “Mike” St. Angelo and Fortunata “Laura” Allelo St. Angelo and passed away peacefully at home on August 5, 2021, in Baton Rouge, LA where she was a native her entire life. She was a graduate of Baton Rouge High School. She later got a business degree and worked for the State of Louisiana in the Education Department where she retired in 1989. She was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church. She married Elmer Ray Lofton July 3, 1949, and had three children, Thomas Raymond Lofton, Jon Patrick Lofton, and Lisa Maria Lofton Pecanty. After Elmer passed away on September 10, 1982, she married Guy Joseph Denicola on April 13, 1984, until his death on December 2, 2012. She was blessed with seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, both spouses, three brothers, Gaspar “Bill” St. Angelo, Anthony “Tony” St. Angelo, and Sam St. Angelo, Daughter-in-law Jeri Sue Solar Lofton and baby Lofton. She is survived by her three children, Thomas Lofton (late wife Jeri Sue Solar) of Baton Rouge, LA, Jon Lofton (wife Kim Spillman Lofton) of Ventress, LA, and Lisa Lofton Pecanty (husband Clyde Ray Pecanty) of Baton Rouge, LA, grandchildren, Amanda Lofton Snider (husband Chad Snider) and children Mia Isabella, Sophia Rose, and Amelia Grace of Lake Charles, LA, Blair Pecanty Snider (husband Jeremy Snider) and children Bayleigh Rae, Brynlee Ryann and Jett Daniel of Lake Charles, LA, Thomas “Tommy” Lofton II (wife Heather Johnson Lofton) and children Thomas “Tripp” Raymond III and Aldyn Grace of Central, LA, Lacey Lofton Crochet (husband Daniel Crochet) and children Harrison Tyler, Lincoln Wyatt, and Evelyn Rose of Zachary, LA, Jonathan Lofton of Austin, TX, Benjamin Lofton of Baton Rouge, LA and Katie Lofton of Zachary, LA, great grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews and loving care givers Ashley Collison and Cynthia Eby.
A visitation for Mary will be held Thursday, August 12, 2021 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, 445 Marquette Ave, Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70815. A catholic funeral mass will occur Thursday, August 12, 2021 at 10:00 AM, 445 Marquette Ave, Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70815. An interment will occur Thursday, August 12, 2021 at Greenoaks Memorial Park, 9595 Florida Blvd, Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70815.
