Mary Frances Stanford Eunice passed away peacefully on August 2, 2022 at the age of 85 surrounded by family. Mary was very proud to be a mother and grandmother. She was an organist at St. Alphonsus for 17 years. She taught piano in her home for many years. She was a great listener and loved by everyone who met her. She taught herself how to crochet and made many baby blankets and afghan blankets as gifts. Mary was an avid LSU fan and enjoyed charting LSU football and baseball games. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Melvin Roy Eunice. She is survived by her six children, Dana Smilie (Bob) of Salisbury, NC, Mel “Corky” Eunice (Anne) of Baton Rouge, Nancy Baldwin of St. Gabriel, Stan Eunice (Robyn) of Prairieville, William Eunice (Phoebe) of Denham Springs, and Joe Eunice of Anchorage, AK; 22 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be her six oldest grandsons, Jake Smilie, Paul Smilie, Michael Eunice, Marcus Eunice, Scotty Baldwin, and Zach Eunice. Honorary Pallbearers will be Will Eunice, Nick Baldwin, Andrew Baldwin, Jamie Eunice, Cody Eunice, Benjamin Eunice, Gabriel Eunice, Peter Eunice, and Alexander Eunice. Visitation will be August 4, 2022 at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. It will resume on Friday, August 5, 2022, from 9:00 a.m. until a funeral service at 10:00 a.m., officiated by Father Trey Nelson of St. Jude Catholic Church with burial following at Roselawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Clarity Hospice. The family wishes that a special acknowledgement be made to her granddaughter and husband, Christina and Casey Carville for caring for Mary in her final days.
