

"Mary Ford Crawford "Judy" Gilliam, a native and resident of Baton Rouge, passed away on Tuesday, April 3, 2018, at The Carpenter House at the age of 92 years. Born to Hubbard Ray and Vera Eunice Spillers Crawford on June 26, 1925. Judy was a graduate of Baton Rouge High School in 1941 and received an Associate Degree in Accounting from Louisiana State University. Employed by Standard Oil, Louisiana Department of Welfare, and retired from the LA Department of Education. She was one of the first female members of the Lions Club International. Judy joined the North Baton Rouge Club in 1987, which later merged with the Lions Club of Baton Rouge Downtown. She received the Lion of the Year award three times. She was Downtown's first female Lion president. Judy was also a member of the National Association of Federal Finance Administrators and was active in the Louisiana Association of School Administrators of Federally Assisted Programs. Judy's personality, sense of humor, ability to work with large budgets with Louisiana's children ever at heart made her loved by all. She is known for genuinely caring for all family and friends and will be missed by all. Survived by her children Desmond Gilliam Jr. (Cindy), Keith Gilliam, Ronald Gilliam (Christine), and Marsha Gilliam Dufour; grandchildren Elise Belding, Lyndsey Dykes, Lauren Holland, Jacques and Shelby Dufour, Jonathon, Clay, and Sarah Gilliam; great-grandchildren Rivers, Emery, and Ledger Holland, Jacob Belding, Emily Manguno, Lily Yuzar, Kayden Zumbado, Amelia Rinawanto; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents Hubbert Ray and Vera Spillers Crawford; sister Fay Hill; and brothers James, Jack, and Bobby Crawford. Pallbearers will be Jacques and Shelby Dufour, Jonathon and Clay Gilliam, Chris and Craig Crawford; and honorary pallbearers Steven Holland, Rusty Simoneaux, and Joe Guercio. Relatives and Friends of the Family are invited to attend the visitation at Rabenhorst East, 11000 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA, on Saturday, April 7, 2018, from 9AM until 11AM. A Funeral Service will be held at 11AM. Interment at Roselawn Cemetery to follow. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the staff of Baton Rouge General Hospital Bluebonnet and The Carpenter House. Also, a very, very sincere thank you to HER girls at the Flannery Oaks Guest House. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her name to the Downtown Baton Rouge Lions Club are preferred or any animal rescue.
