"Mary Jarnagin, 95, passed away peacefully, Saturday, January 6, 2017, at Amber Terrace. Mary was born May 24, 1922 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma and moved with her family to Shreveport where she grew up and graduated from Byrd High School in 1940 and attended LSU. Mary moved to Baton Rouge with her husband Gordon and son Ron where they welcomed their daughter, Mary Ann. She was proceeded in death by her father Wilbur Hill, mother, Molly Hill and her twin brother John Hill. She is survived by her husband Gordon Jarnagin, son Ron Jarnagin of Richland Washington, and his wife Linda, daughter Mary Ann Just of Atlanta and husband Eli and granddaughter, Kaitlin Jarnagin of Baton Rouge. Mary was an active volunteer for many years at the Baton Rouge General Hospital and later at the Woman's Hospital. She Gordon loved dancing and were members of several dance clubs. A private service will be held at St. James Episcopal Church.
