Mary Ellen Troxclair Kestler, 55, passed away on Sunday, March 8, 2009 after a courageous 10-year battle with thymus cancer. She was born in Oklahoma City, grew up in Metairie, and has resided in Baton Rouge for 28 years. She was the beloved wife of Bruce J. Kestler, D.D.S., loving mother of Matthew Christopher Kestler, Lauren Elizabeth Anderson and Bradley Joseph Kestler, mother-in-law of David Anderson, daughter of Elaine Aucoin Troxclair Lescale and the late Laurent Joseph Troxclair, granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Fabian Troxclair and Mr. and Mrs. Edward Aucoin, stepdaughter of Henry Edgar Lescale Jr., sister of Richard G. Troxclair and his wife Amy, Susan T. Daniel and her husband David, Donna T. Laird and her husband Geoffrey, David J. Troxclair and his wife Angel, and the late Karen T. Tennant, loving niece of Vivian Aucoin, stepsister of Clement Lescale and wife Mary, Henry E. Lescale III, Russell Lescale and wife Cherie, Richard Lescale and wife Leetrice, and Lynn L. Culton and husband Bill. Also survived by a host of nieces and nephews. Mary was a graduate of Archbishop Chapelle High School in Metairie and attended the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. A devout Catholic, she had a deep devotion to Our Lady of Medjugorie and was a member of Magnificat. The family expresses gratitude to her dear friend, Beverly Mitchell, Dr. Garrett Walsh, MD Anderson, Dr. Jay Brooks, Houston Hospice, Katherine Dupuy and the Sister Servants in Birmingham, Ala. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral Mass at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, 445 Marquette Ave., Baton Rouge, at 3 p.m. Wednesday, March 11. Visitation to begin at 1 p.m. at the church. Interment in St. George Cemetery, 7808 St. George Drive. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to The American Cancer Society.
