Laborde, Mary Betty Mary Betty Laborde, 80, native of Mansura, LA and resident of Baton Rouge, LA passed away peacefully on October 2, 2015. Betty was born at the Touro Infirmary in New Orleans, LA and graduated from Mansura High in 1952. She obtained a BS in Education in 1957 and a MA in French in 1972; both from LSU. Betty studied French at the University of Grenoble, France in 1975. She taught French and American history at Morgan City High, Lee High of Baton Rouge and St. John of Plaquemine. Betty was a French professor at LSU. She enjoyed leading educational tours of Europe with students. Planning for these adventures and reading was her hobbies. Her annual decoration of the Christmas tree provided a source of pride and was enjoyed by all who witnessed the creation; each ornament held a treasured story. Betty is survived by her son Van. Visitation will be held at Rabenhorst Funeral Home on 825 Government Street on Monday October 5, 2015 from 3:00 to 5:00PM CDT.
