Mary Louise Life was born July 24, 1925, in Minden, and passed away Thursday, Feb. 14, 2008, in Baton Rouge. She is a graduate of Minden High School, Louisiana Tech University and LSU in Baton Rouge. She began her teaching career at age 19. After 10 years in the public schools of Port Arthur, Texas, she taught at LSU Baton Rouge for 28 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Bryan Life and Johnnye David Life, both of Minden; and a sister, Lillian Life Willis. Survivors include a sister, Martha Life Jamieson, of Minden; a nephew, William Life Jamieson, of Chattanooga, Tenn.; two nieces, Bonnie Jamieson Culverhouse and Martha Willis, both of Minden; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. Mary Louise is also survived by lifelong friend, Jane Pitcher Bell, of Shreveport and longtime friend and companion, Helen Elizabeth Fant, of Baton Rouge. Graveside services will be held at Minden Cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to University Baptist Church, The St. James Place Foundation, and Hospice of Baton Rouge, all located in Baton Rouge.
