
A retired sales manager in charge of by-products for Riceland Foods Inc., she died at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 1, 2008, at her residence in Baton Rouge. She was 92 and a native of Stuttgart, Ark. Visiting at the First United Methodist Church, 930 North Blvd., on Thursday, Aug. 7, from 9:30 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Chris Andrews. Burial in Lone Tree Cemetery, Stuttgart. She is survived by a daughter, Judith Linton Perkins and her husband, Berlin E. Perkins III; and two grandchildren, Berlin Madison Perkins, his wife, Mara Cunningham Perkins and their children, Berlin Kent Perkins and Reece Elizabeth Perkins; and Laura Coale Perkins Barr, her husband John Alan Barr and their children, John Coale Barr, Tate Malone Barr and Anna Catherine Barr. Also survived by two sisters-in-law, Elizabeth MacDonough Yoder and Henrietta Joseph Yoder; and numerous beloved nieces, nephews and friends. Preceded in death by her father, Joseph Floyd Yoder Sr.; mother, Laura Catherine Kennedy Yoder; three brothers, Stephen Parker Yoder, Joseph Floyd Yoder and Kenneth Warner Yoder; sister, Rebecca Stephens Yoder Jankus; and brother-in-law, Phillips Brooks Jankus. Catherine's life was characterized by her energy, love of people and zest for life. She was a graduate of Stuttgart High School and attended Arkansas Teachers College in Conway, Ark. She returned to Stuttgart in 1946 and began working at the Arkansas Rice Growers Cooperative Buyers' Association which became Riceland Foods Inc. She worked for Riceland Foods in Stuttgart for more then 30 years and retired in 1980 as sales manager in charge of by-products. After 18 years of travel, including residences in Bismark and Rosebud, Ark., she settled in Baton Rouge. She was a member of The Music Club of Baton Rouge, the First United Methodist Church and its Covenant Sunday school class, Lowry Circle and XYZ Ministry. Her volunteer work included the Baton Rouge General Medical Center and the Boutique of First United Methodist Church. The family deeply appreciates the love and service of Paulette, Cynthia, Cathy, Vickie and Gwen.
