
Mary Ellen Luckett, a homemaker and mother, of Beaumont, Texas, passed away Sunday, Dec. 15, 2013. She was 80 and a resident of Baton Rouge. Visiting at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, 445 Marquette Ave., on Wednesday, Dec. 18, from 9 a.m. until Mass at 10:30 a.m., conducted by Father Miles Walsh. Interment in St. George Cemetery. Survived by daughters, Phyllis Blackburn, Jeanie Cassano, and Marilyn LeJeune and husband Edwin J. LeJeune Jr.; sons, Steve Luckett, and Mike Luckett and wife Ethel; brother, Charles Nicholas; and grandchildren, Derek Luckett, Corey Luckett, Mike Luckett, Mitch Luckett, Brian Luckett, Kyle Cassano and Jessica Ervin. Preceded in death by her parents, Antoine and Mary Edna Nicholas; husband, Gus Gibson Luckett; sister, Gladys Stevens; and brothers, Milton and Richard Nicholas. Pallbearers will be Mitchell Luckett, Corey Luckett, Mike Luckett and Eddie LeJeune. She was a 38 year member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, Altar Society and Holy Name Society. Special thanks to the entire staff at Fresenius Medical Care, in particular to her favorite doctor; Dr. Jones Samuel, as he always referred to her as "his princess."
