
Myrtle 'Miss Myrtle', a homemaker died on Wednesday, November 6, 2013, at her home in Baton Rouge. She was 88 and a native of Labarre, La, in Pointe Coupee Parish. She enjoyed her church life and participated as long as she was able. Her greatest joy was singing - especially in the church choir. She also enjoyed singing French songs that her father and grandmother taught her. She loved her family and friends and will be deeply missed by all. She is survived by her son, James 'Jimmy' and daughter-in-law, Debra Middleton of Walker; daughter Cynthia Brown of Baton Rouge; granddaughters Stacie Landry and husband Brent, and Ginger Middleton; and two great-grandsons, Collin and Ashton, all of Walker. And by numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Ida Bouquet; her husband of 61 years, Stephen 'S.F.' Middleton; brothers Charles, Murphy, and Oscar Bouquet; and sisters Clothilde Landry, Martha Lavergne, Lucy Jarreau, and Agnes Sillinger. Pallbearers will be Ovie Lee Brown, Charles Curley, Jesse Floyd, Randy Bonaventure, Brad Sillinger, and Tommy Floyd. Visitation will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 9, until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. conducted by Father Adam Portugal.
