
Mary Rose Trombatore Scardina, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother died on May 7, 2016. She was 93 years old. She is survived by daughter Patricia Scardina Demouy, son Ray Scardina and wife Theresa, son Allan Scardina and wife Susan McKinley; brother Johnny Trombatore; three grandchildren, Chris Demouy and wife Sheri, Alyson Demouy and Audrey Scardina; three great-grandchildren, Jackson, Emma and Mia Demouy; brother-in-law, Kenny Scardina and sister-in-law, Marianne Trombatore, as well as many nieces, nephews and their children. She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Thomas Scardina, three brothers: Thomas, Sam and Joe Trombatore, and son-in-law, Ronnie Demouy. Mary Rose was born in Independence, LA to Carmelo Emile Trombatore and Giovanna (Annie) Nicotre. She graduated from Independence High in 1940, after which she moved to Baton Rouge and worked as an office assistant for several years. In 1947 she married her husband of 45 years, "Andy" Scardina. Mary Rose was a long-time member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church where she served as a volunteer for many years. She will be missed for her positive, loving approach to life and her willingness to always help out family and friends in any way she could. Visitation will be from 10:30 am - 12:30 pm Saturday, May 14th at Rabenhorst East Funeral Home on Florida Boulevard. A funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church at 1 p.m. Burial to follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park. The family would like to thank Clarity Hospice. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Ronald Demouy Memorial Fund at Sacred Heart Catholic School or Saint Joseph's Academy, both in Baton Rouge.
