A retired medical librarian and a resident and native of Baton Rouge, she died Saturday, Jan. 23, 2010, at age 71. Visiting at St. Jude Catholic Church on Tuesday, Jan. 26, from 9 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Trey Nelson. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Se is survived by a sister, Cathryn Steinbach, of Baton Rouge; and a brother, Dr. Thomas Steinbach, of Houston. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert H. Steinbach and Irene A. Steinbach. She was a graduate of St. Joseph Academy, and earned her bachelor of arts degree from Webster College St. Louis, Mo., and her masters degree in library science from LSU. She received her certification as a medical librarian from Tulane University and served as medical librarian at Gillis Long Hanson's Disease Center for 35 years until her retirement in 2003. She was a member of the National Library Association, Catholic Daughters of America and St. Jude Catholic Church. Thanks to all of her doctors and the SICU And RCU units at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center for their expert care.
