Mary Ada Jolissant Theriot

Mary Ada Jolissaint Theriot, 95, peacefully passed away in Baton Rouge on Thursday May 19th at 9:15 am surrounded by her family. Mary Ada was born in Baton Rouge. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt. She was kind, generous and friendly to everyone she encountered. She loved to dance and sing, she loved to be surrounded by people. Mary Ada is preceded in death by her husband John W. Theriot Sr., her mother Delia Landry Jolissaint, her father, John Edward Jolissaint Sr., 6 brothers and 2 sisters. She is survived by her sister Elaine Jolissaint Aubin, four children John W. Theriot Jr. and wife Cheryl, Ronald James Theriot Sr. and wife Sandra, Thomas Russell Theriot Sr. and Mary Jo Theriot Chaisson and husband Dean; nine grandchildren, Amy, Cain, Jay, Isabel, Karen, Russ, DeAnn, Megan and Molly and 17 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Jay Theriot, Russ Theriot, Lane Aubin, Jack Jolissaint, Jim Jolissaint, Wayne St. Pierre, Kahn Petite, and Bill Aucoin. We would like to thank the staff and caregivers at Sunrise on Seigen for their love and compassion towards Mary Ada and her family. We would also like to thank Hospice in His Care for their compassion and support. Visitation will be on Saturday, May 21st at Saint Jude the Apostle Catholic Church from 9:00 AM until mass at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
