Mary Anna Tyler

Mary Anna Tyler, a native of Oklahoma City, OK, passed away on March 5, 2022 at the age of 78. She was an animal lover and a fan of the Olympic games and college football. Mary loved listening to Kenny Rogers for hours on end. She enjoyed reading as well as collecting cookbooks and various other treasures.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Joe Tyler of Baton Rouge, LA; daughter Carolyn Reed of Baton Rouge, LA, grandson Christopher Reed of DeRidder, LA, granddaughter Lauren Reed of Orlando, FL; son Andrew Tyler of Groveport, OH and wife Jackie Tyler, grandson Brandon Tyler of Groveport, OH, and grandson Matthew Tyler of Groveport, OH; daughter Sandy Fambrough of Flower Mound, TX and husband John Fambrough, and grandson Joshua Hitt of Oklahoma City, OK; and very dear friend Pat Prince, a beloved neighbor for over forty years. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Hazel Olehy; her brother, James Olehy; her son-in-law Daniel Reed; and various cousins.

The family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses at the fifth floor of Baton Rouge General on Bluebonnet, especially Dr. Weaver and social worker April, as well as The Crossing Hospice.

Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd. Baton Rouge, LA on Wednesday, March 9, from 12:00pm until funeral service time of 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to CAAWS (the Capital Area Animal Welfare Society) or Cat Haven.
