Mary Emily Welborn

Mary Emily Cunningham Welborn, a native of Tchula, Miss., and a resident of Baton Rouge, passed away at home Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2010, at age 82. She is survived by a daughter, Mary Lou Cunningham Roberts and husband Allen Joseph Roberts; grandsons, Steven Edward Shirey and his wife, Marsha, and Jason Edward Shirey; great-grandchildren, Allison Marie and Emily Marie Shirey; sisters, Sue Thomas and her husband, Joe, and Ann Williams; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas "Trigger" Welborn; parents, Franklin Alexander and Emma Julia Williams; and brothers, Frank E. Williams, Bryant J. Williams and Albert L. Williams. Visitation at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., on Thursday, Oct. 28, was from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visiting resumes at the funeral home Friday, Oct. 29, from 9 a.m. until religious services at noon. Burial in Greenoaks Memorial Park. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Istrouma Chapter 162, past worthy matron, and a member of Brookstown Baptist Church.
