
Born on Dec. 11, 1920, in Plaquemine, she passed away at Our Lady of theLakeRegionalMedicalCenterin Baton Rougeat 4:05 p.m.Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2007. She was 86 and a resident of Baton Rouge. Mrs. Zito was a parishioner of St. Louis King of France Catholic Church, where she served as a member of the Ladies Altar Society, and was a member of Court St. Francis of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Knights of Columbus Auxiliary of St. Thomas More Catholic Church and the American Italian Association. She is survived by two daughters, Mary Ann Zito Catha and husband James, and Nancy Zito Crifasi and husband John, all of Baton Rouge; two sisters, Lena LeBlanc of White Castle and Catherine LeGlue of Westwego; a brother, Johnny Canella of Plaquemine; four grandchildren, Christopher Catha and wife Julie, Jennifer Catha Arceneaux and husband Eric, and Johnathan Crifasi and Christina Crifasi; and great-grandchild, Taylor Catha. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph A. Zito; parents, Victor and Frances Campesi Canella; four sisters, Annie Sciortino, Rose Canella, Frances Bourg and Josephine Canella; and three brothers, Frank, Nat and Sam Canella. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., was on Thursday, Feb. 15, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., with recitation of the rosary at 6 p.m. Visiting at St. Louis King of France Catholic Church, 2121 N. Sherwood Forest, on Friday from noon until Mass of Christian Burial at 1:30 p.m., with the Rev. Jack Nutter, celebrant. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory, with Jonathan Crifasi, Christopher Catha, Eric Arceneaux, Herbert LeBlanc Jr., Victor Canella and Nat Canella serving as pallbearers. Memorial donations may be made to St. Louis King of France Catholic Church.
