Matthew Bahlinger

Matthew Bahlinger, 24, beloved son and brother, passed away Tuesday, February 15, 2022 in Baton Rouge. He was born in Louisville, KY and spent most of his childhood in Mandeville, LA. He is survived by his parents, Alice and Gerald Bahlinger, his sister, Mary Bahlinger Motes, of Lafayette, his sisters, Michelle and Molly Bahlinger, and his maternal grandfather, John L. Bilisoly. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Jeanette "Jo" Reiser Bilisoly, his two paternal grandparents, Mary Claire and Peter F. Bahlinger, Sr., and his godfather, David Currier. He graduated from Mandeville High School and went to LSU where he joined the Golden Band from Tigerland. From there, he went to work full time at Texas Roadhouse as a line cook where he excelled and then most recently went to work at Walk-Ons. Matthew loved Mardi Gras and LSU games. He loved riding in Bacchus with his father and going fishing with Uncle John. He loved going to Fred's with his friends and making his family laugh. Services for Matthew will be at St. Aloysius Church on Friday, February 18, with visitation from 10:00am-noon followed by a memorial mass at noon.
