From Mimi to her kids and grandkids, “When you look up into the night sky, and you see the brightest, twinkling star, that’s me watching over you.” Maureen “Mimi” Lafauci Major passed away on Monday, March 29, 2021, at the age of 67. She was the sweetest, bravest, strongest, most giving, selfless, loving and free spirited person you would ever meet. She was also the most loving wife, a Super-mom and an ultimate MiMi and Nanny Mo. Mimi is survived by her husband of 45 years, John Major; children, Christopher Major and wife, Andrea, Christi Peltier and husband, Benjamin, and Derek Major; grandchildren, Haley, Beau, McKenzie, Madisyn, Owen and Lucas; sisters, Nancy and Debra; sisters-in-law, Tammy, Gwen and Gail; brothers-in-law, Jr., Jimmy and Mark; pets, Biscuit and Bae Bae; and a host of other loving family members. She is preceded in death by her parents, Salvador and Kathryn Lafauci; and brother, Salvador, Jr. Visitation will be at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA, on Thursday, April 1, 2021, from 5:00PM until 7:00PM. Visitation will resume at Greenoaks on Friday, April 2, 2021, from 8:00AM until the time of funeral services at 10:00AM. Burial will immediately follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park.
