

Maurice “Mo” Harmon passed away on July 25, 2024 at the age of 59. He was born in Vicksburg, MS and resided in Baton Rouge, LA. Mo enjoyed cooking for his family and community; he made a world-famous jambalaya and enjoyed “big pot” cookin’. He loved spending his time in the outdoors, drinking beer, and was an avid Costco lover, Tiger fan and Parrothead. Mo was also named the City Club Specialty Cocktail Winner. He was a member of Algiers Irish Rebels & Friendship and a parishioner of St. Aloysius Church. Mo was a member of Phi Delta Theta at LSU and he worked as a Solutions Executive for Bentley Systems, Inc. on roads and bridges.
He is survived by his wife, Crystal Harmon; son, Ryan Harmon; daughter, Lauren Harmon; siblings, Lisa Harmon Matthews, Bryan Harmon (Susie) and Stacie Harmon (Lawrence) and all who fit into his broader definition of family: neighbors, friends, co-workers and more.
Mo is preceded in death by his father, Lloyd Harmon; mother, Mary Harmon and father-in-law, Christopher Clausen.
A visitation will be held on Monday, July 29th at Rabenhorst Funeral Home (Government St.) in Baton Rouge from 12:30PM – 1:30PM; with a memorial service beginning at 1:30PM. A reception will follow at the City Club of Baton Rouge. Memorial contributions can be sent to St. Aloysius Catholic Church and/or School in Baton Rouge, LA in honor of Mo.
