A long time resident of Denham Springs and a native of Porterville, Calif., she died Friday, Jan. 21, 2011, at age 86. A veteran of the U.S. Navy and a long time member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, May loved spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She also loved to fish and golf. Visitation at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., on Sunday, Jan. 23, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visitation at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church on Monday, Jan. 24, from 9:30 a.m. until a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m., with the Rev. Michael J. Moroney, celebrant. Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park. She is survived by three daughters and their spouses, Kathy and Dan Browning, Fran and Larry Baker, and Chris and Richie Mancuso; four sons and their spouses, Ronald and Glenda Hunt, Bobby and Marilyn Hunt, Steve and Donna Hunt, and Donnie and Cathi Hunt; 13 grandsons, 13 granddaughters, 11 great-grandsons, 11 great-granddaughters, two great-great-granddaughters, two brothers and their spouses, Tommy and Margie Hafley, and Chuck and Iris Hafley, all of California; sister-in-law, Gloria Hafley, of California; brother-in-law, Eddie Street, of California; son-in-law, Randy Kirkwood; 18 nieces and nephews, all of California; and a dear friend, Roberta Gillespie. She was preceded in death by her husband, Amiss L. Hunt; parents, Thomas and Eva Martin Hafley; daughter, Mary Kirkwood; grandson, Jayden Baker; son-in-law, Harry Pourciau; two sisters, Ray Street and Fay Wilson; two brothers, Robert and Carl Hafley; and brother-in-law, Bill Wilson. Pallbearers will be Jason Browning, Bobby Hunt, Sonny Hunt, Rocky Baker, Tommy Hunt, Adam Hunt, Matthew Mancuso and Blake Theriot.
