

A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and woman of unwavering faith, Melody Maggio lived a life defined by love, kindness, and an abiding faith in God.
She passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 2, 2025, at the age of 77. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth and devotion that will live on in the hearts of her family forever.
Melody was the cherished wife of Louis William "Bubbie" Maggio Jr. and the loving mother of three daughters: Ashlee Torgerson (Jay), Shelley Caves (Dustin), and Heather Brooks (Elton). She was preceded in death by her husband, Bubbie; her son, Louis William "Trey" Maggio Ill; her parents, Ruth and Murray Laudermilk; and her brother, Curtis Laudermilk. She is survived by her sister, Linda (Doug); her brother, Louis; her daughter-in-law, Gloria, widow of Trey; and her extended family.
Her greatest joy came from her family, which grew to include eight adored grandchildren: Taylor Torgerson lwen, Gavin Torgerson, Lizzy Torgerson, Cole Caves, Garrett Caves, Breanna Maggio, Braden Brooks, Isabella "Bella" Brooks, and seven precious great-grandchildren: Delilah, Quinn, Troy, Garrison, Gavin, Nolan and Colton.
Melody cherished all animals-especially her cats-nurtured thriving plants, and delighted in beautiful hair, nails, and jewelry, always presenting herself with impeccable style. Above all, her deep faith in God anchored her days, infusing those around her with strength and grace.
She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, nurturing heart, and quiet resilience in all aspects of life. Melody's love touched countless lives, and her memory will continue to inspire and comfort her family.
A small graveside ceremony will be held on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at 11 :00 a.m. at Greenoaks Memorial Park, followed by a celebration of Melody's life at the home of beloved family members Kim and Ronnie Arceneaux.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Melody's name to St. Tammany Parish Animal Shelter.
