Melvin Melancon

A native of New Orleans and a resident of Baton Rouge passed away on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at the Southeast War Veterans Home in Reserve, La at the age of 81. He was a graduate of Tulane University, a U.S. Army veteran and retired from the Federal Government. Visitation will be at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd on Monday, October 22, 2012 from 5pm to 9pm and on Tuesday, October 23, 2012 from 9am till service time at 10am. Burial will be in Greenoaks Memorial Park. He is survived by one brother, Malcolm Melancon; sister, Maureen Melancon; nephews, Maurice, Marc and Kevin Melancon and wife Jeaninne; niece Michelle Sanchez and husband Robert; great nephews, Chase, Gavin and Matthew; great nieces, Monica, Laina, Zoey, Kristen, Anne and Addison. He is preceded in death by his parents, Maurice and Nobie Percle Melancon and sister in law, Edris Melancon. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to Generations Hospice, 32948 Hwy 16, Denham Springs, La 70706.

Sorry to hear about Melvin's passing. I can remember the good times at family gatherings when all the cousins got togather. Malcoln and family, may God bless and support you all in this time of grief.

Malcolm and family.... Aldon and I are saddened about the loss of Melvin. We so enjoyed the times we spent with him, Maureen and all your family during the years of family gatherings of which you made us a part of. We know he will be sadly missed by many. Our condolences to all the family.

Malcolm and family, So sorry to hear of Mel's passing. My children and I hv such happy memories of him and the entire family at Aunt Ruby and Uncle Ed's house for special occasions. Those were great times had by all of us! He will now join Darry and the entire family in heaven! All my love and prayers!!

So sad to hear of Uncle Mel's passing. He was such a great person who always made us laugh. I have very fond memories of my times with him. He will be missed.
