

Michael David Bourg, age 78, a resident of Baton Rouge, passed away on February 24, 2024. Michael was born and raised in Donaldsonville, Louisiana. He attended the University of Southwestern Louisiana (currently the University of Louisiana Lafayette), where he was an active member of Phi Kappa Theta fraternity, graduating in 1970. Michael met his wife, Kim Bravo, during his favorite pastime, an LSU football game. Following their marriage, Michael returned to Donaldsonville with his wife where they welcomed their daughter, Bryce, before eventually settling in the Baton Rouge area. Michael was an avid LSU sports fan, enjoying many Saturdays with family and friends tailgating on campus before attending football games. In his later years, Michael delighted in being “Pops” to his only granddaughter, Avery, whom he adored.
Michael is survived by his wife, Kim, his daughters Shanie and Bryce, his grandson Tripp, granddaughter, Avery, brother Nicky Bourg (Cheryl), several nieces and nephews, and many dear friends. Preceded in death by his parents, Claude P. and Georgianna Gros Bourg; sister, Jacqueline Bourg Hymel, brother Robert Bourg, sister Elaine Bourg Covington, and brother Claude “Toby” Bourg Jr.
Honorary pallbearers are Lynn Alexander, Wayne Johnson, Charles Hardy, William McNabb, and Nicky Bourg.
Arrangements will be held on Friday, March 1, 2024 at St. John the Evangelist church in Prairieville, Louisiana. The wake will be from 9:45 AM to 11:00 AM with a mass immediately following. The burial will be held at Serenity Oaks Memorial Park in Prairieville, Louisiana, following the mass.
