“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness which the Lord, the righteous judge, will give to me on that day.” On Sunday, July 07, 2013, Michael “Keith” Crochet was called home to be with his Savior after a long and courageous battle with brain cancer. Keith was 56 and a resident of Central, LA. He was one of the co-founders, along with longtime friend Yogi Doyle, of “Lady Hustlers” girls’ softball team. Keith loved the game as well as coaching, but most of all loved “his girls”. Keith was a loving husband, father, brother and grandfather that will be missed dearly by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Keith is survived by his wife, Mary Crochet; three daughters, Michelle McLin and husband Ryan, Fallyn Brumfield and her husband Steven, and his baby girl, Kayla Crochet; one son, Brian Crochet; one sister, Darlene Hearld; two brothers, Dale Crochet and his wife Louise, and Danny Crochet and his wife Kay; and grandchildren, Ramzie McLin, Alyssa McLin, Brannson McLin, Maggie Brumfield, Bryson Edwards, Corey Brumfield, Carlie Brumfield, and one on the way, Ethan Michael Craighead. He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Grace Williams; parents, Ergin “EJ” and Doris Crochet; sister, Brenda Ikner; two nephews, Dusty Hearld and David Scott Crochet; and one son Michael Crochet. Keith is in Heaven to wait for the rest of us, but until then he will stay in our hearts and memories. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 10, 2013 from ¬9 am until funeral service at 2pm. Interment will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Gary Delatte, Mike Yarbrough, James Yarbrough, Ty Arceneaux, Raymond Miller, and Mike Massey. Honorary pallbearers will be Rhett Crochet and Dale Crochet Jr. Please visit www.greenoaksfunerals.com to leave condolences for the family.
