
A special laboratory technician with ExxonMobil and a resident and a native of Baton Rouge, he died Monday, Oct. 22, 2007. He was 59 and a U.S. Navy veteran. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Wednesday, Oct. 24, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on Thursday from 9 a.m. until religious service at 10 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Ron Lamb. Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Survived by his wife, Peggy C. Johnston; mother, Dorothy "Dot" Johnston; daughter, Kristyn McDonald; four sons and two daughters-in-law, Bryan D. and Tabatha Johnston, Brent A. and Jessica Johnston, Brad M. Johnston and Bryan C. McDonald; seven grandchildren, Lexie D'Amico, Jacob D. Johnston, Abigayle Johnston, Luke A. Johnston, Daniel P. Johnston, Andrew M. Johnston and Haylen A. Hunter; and brother and sister-in-law, Danny L. and Lisa Johnston. Pallbearers will be Perry Williams, Steve Higgins, Gill Mixon, Keith Corkern, James Reaves, Al Wickboldt, James Windom, Jerry Perrin and Mike Ansell. Preceded in death by his father, D.D. "Jimmy" Johnston; and brother, Mickey L. Johnston. He was a lifelong member of Istrouma Baptist Church and a graduate of Baton Rouge High School and LSU. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations in Mr. Johnston's memory to the Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center, 4950 Essen Lane, Baton Rouge, LA 70809.
