Mike began his career with Asplundh Tree Service in the late 1970s. Not long after, Mike followed his entrepreneurial spirit and started his own company, Mike’s Tree Service. For 43 years, he dedicated himself to the business, becoming a familiar and trusted name in the Baton Rouge community. His determination, work ethic, and resilience defined both his career and the way he lived his life.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, having a good time and spending time with his beloved dogs, File and Tubby. Those who knew Mike will remember his tenacity and drive. Whether in business or in life, nothing could stop him once he set his mind to something.
Mike is survived by his mother, Virginia F. Englerth; his Aunt Jo Englerth; his brother, Steve Englerth; his sister, Sharon Englerth; and his brother, David Englerth. He also leaves behind his daughter, Victoria Heck along with his grandchildren Jadon, Taylor, Leo, Cali and Wes, who will continue to carry his memory forward.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Richard A. Englerth; his first wife, Debbie Lynn Englerth; his beloved daughter, M. Nicole Englerth; and his second wife, Carla Jean Spradley.
A visitation will be held at Green Oaks Funeral Home on March 24, 2026, beginning at 9:00 a.m., with a memorial service to follow at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel.
Mike’s legacy is one of grit, determination, and a life built through hard work. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
