

Dr. Michael William Fa-Kouri, native of Opelousas, La. and resident of Baton Rouge, La. passed away on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at his residence. He was a founding member of the Baton Rouge Radiology Group where he practiced for 47 years. He received his undergraduate at USL in Lafayette and attended medical school at LSU in New Orleans. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and loved spending time with his family and friends, especially his five daughters, which he believed to be his greatest accomplishment.
Michael was a loving husband, amazing father, father-in-law, grandfather, baby brother, and friend. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Frances Sittig Fa-Kouri, daughters, Dana Angelle Fa-Kouri, Paige Fa-Kouri Patterson and husband, Gregg Joseph Patterson, Jill Marie Fa-Kouri, Kristie Fa-Kouri Esteve and husband, Darren Christopher Esteve, and Brandi Fa-Kouri Shows and husband, Joseph Ryan Shows; sisters, Angelle Fa-Kouri Boustany, Vera Fa-Kouri Joseph, Marjorie Fa-Kouri, and Vienna Fa-Kouri; grandchildren, Elisabeth Belle Fontenot, Juliet Claire Fontenot, Joseph Michael Patterson, Lauren Elise Patterson, Michael James Esteve, and William Paul Esteve, Dominic Victor Shows, Alexis Natalia Shows, and Sophia Isabelle Shows. He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Maggie Fa-Kouri and brothers, John Fa-Kouri, Jr. and Jacob Fa-Kouri.
Visitation will be held at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church on Friday, April 24, 2015 from 8:30am until Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30am conducted by Father Cleo Milano. Interment will be held at 1:00pm at Greenoaks Memorial Park.
He served in the Louisiana National Guard during his college years. Memorial donations may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project.
