Michael Edward Robinson

Michael Edward Robinson, affectionately known as Mike, Dad, and Papa, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Friday, August 14, 2026, at the age of 73. He was a resident of Greenwell Springs, Louisiana. He was born in Weymouth, Massachusetts, and moved to Baton Rouge (NBR) as a child. He considered himself Southern, even though he had New England roots.

Mike leaves behind his wife of 55 years, Anne Patin Robinson; daughter, Ashley Law and son-in-law, Dewayne; son, Micah and daughter-in-law, Misty; five grandchildren, Peyton (Ashton) Stokes, Grace Michalyn Knapps, Jude Ryan Knapps, Gabriella “Gabby” Lynn Robinson, and Kensley Anne Robinson; and two great-grandchildren, Leighton Grace and Hollis Jude Stokes. Papa adored his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They were his entire world.

Also survived by his brother, Jim (Sally) Robinson, and sisters, Helene Robinson, and JoAnn (Bryan) Stephens; sisters- and brothers-in-law, Theresa Roussel, Margaret (Dennis) Peters, Denise (Johnny) Gaines, and Sammy Patin; godson, Jared Gaines; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Betty Pratt Leger, Patrick Robinson, and Joseph “Joe” Leger; beloved sister, Marsha Benjamin; brothers-in-law, Roger Vincent Patin and Dean Roussel; as well as many other beloved friends.

Mike was the longtime business owner of Mike Robinson Enterprises, an HVAC company. Skip Bertman was a loyal customer and one of his favorites. It gave us a little extra peace knowing our legend was going to enter heaven’s gates not far behind Skip. An all-weather, die-hard LSU Tigers fan, Mike had an entire room in his home dedicated to LSU. Mike loved to cook and entertain. Over the years, he hosted many LSU parties, as well as holiday gatherings. He was a proud Istrouma Indian and stayed connected with his wonderful friends from his childhood growing up in North Baton Rouge. He also cherished the friendships he made over the years at Blackie’s, where good times and memories were made.

Mike was a loyal American and loved his country. He had a deep appreciation for the American eagle, which was his favorite bird. He had a profound love of music and loved to post songs on his social media page to remind others of great old-school music. Mike also enjoyed fishing and going to the camp in earlier years.

Over the last year, Mike’s health declined, and he suffered several health issues. Being the humble man he was, he did not want many to know of his suffering. He did not want pity and wanted others to believe he was simply fine. His wife, Anne, poured her whole heart into caring for him every single hour of the day and night. She was his constant and loving presence, providing care and never leaving his side until the very end.

The family would like to extend thanks to Matt Smith, PT, and Mae Adams with Superior Home Health for their genuine love and care; Baton Rouge EMS and the Central Fire Department; the ER team, especially Blake, at Ochsner Medical O’Neal for their love and support to Mike and our family during his final hours. They went above and beyond. Mike had never been to Ochsner, but they treated us like family.

To honor him in the best way, we would like to ask if you will wear LSU colors—purple and gold—in some way.

Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd, Baton Rouge, LA 70815, US, on Saturday, August 29, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, followed by a Memorial Service at 2:00 PM.
