I loved working with Mike at Riverbend Station.  Mike was a true friend.  One of the best times we had was when we went to the Cajun Nationals NHRA event back in about 1989.  I've never forgotten you Mike and I don't believe that I ever will.   Rest easy my brother.  

Angels.   Wow, they make a difference in our lives.

We have had three angels that we stumbled across on Lord of the Rings Online, the third being "Mo."  We met him in Dol Amroth and hitched a ride with them.
I was deeply impressed as there was a level of care, concern, and brotherhood amongst the kin who knew this Mo guy.  They were fiercely loyal.  And Mo would repeatedly sacrifice himself to give us a good raid ride.
Quite a ride!  And the stories!  Oh, my word.   Some were entertaining. Some made our hearts cry at the hurt and pain that were under the surface and only hinted at. And others were . . .  well just downright stupid stubborn.  Yes, eye-rolling for us.    But we unexpectedly found camaraderie there.

My heart broke when we heard the diagnosis . . a couple of months later, Michael shared a song with me.  Verse three says:

If it wasn't for the breaking, I would never know the mend
I wouldn't know the sweetness of freedom, if I didn't know my sin
If there hadn't been forgiveness, that covered all my shame
Oh I'd still be a debtor, if He didn't take my place.
and later:
If there hadn't been a Savior who died to make a way,
Oh I'd still be a dead man...
If there hadn't been a grave (Hallelujah)

Michael is alive and well and pain free, rejoicing in Heaven
Hope to see you again Mo, . . .  well not too soon Lord willing!

As a coworker at RBS, one thing I can say about Mike, was that he was forever in pursuit of excellence.  I remember him relentlessly persistent in identifying and getting issues fixed.  He didn’t shy away from asking me for engineering support from one of my engineers.  I admired him for that, a straight shooter, a just the issues man, let get them fixed.  It’s been a decade almost since I was there.  It’s good to read the other posts indicating he readily shared his knowledge and values.  My deepest and sincerest condolences to Mike’s family and friends.  Hang on to your memories of Mike in your hearts and minds, for nothing can take that away from you as his spirit dwells within each of you.

We are only blessed with a few true friends in life, Mike was one of mine.  He was a passionate man who was not afraid to wear that great heart on his sleeve!  A true original who will be sorely missed.  No one who met him could ever forget him.  Audra and Mike you are in my family's prayers and have our deepest condolences.  

Although Doug and I never met Mike in person, we have known him for many years in the world of Middle Earth through Lord of the Rings online.  He was a friend, a fellow gamer, a mentor, and leader of our kinship called SleeplessKnights.  He was a man driven to help others which he did generously with his whole heart. His sense of humor and his wit added to our lives. We called him "Mo" and that was a fitting name. We miss you, Mo.

Mike is more than a friend, he is the brother that everyone needs to have. He will be sadly missed. He is dancing with angels and I look forward to seeing him again in Heaven.

I went to TVA school with Mike in 1980  and worked with him at Sequoyah Nuclear Plant until he returned home to work.  Mike was a character always going on with something or the other.  We all knew mike as ‘Crash’.  I can say that I never met anyone quite like Vierra, that wonderful crazy guy.  Wish I could have gotten to see Vierra but he will always be a blessed memory.  Bon Voyage, Crash.

I am very sorry for your family's loss. I never personally met Mike but I wish I had. He was always friendly and helpful to me and others.

Dear Family Members - I have only known Mike for the past few years as "Mo" from his time playing Lord of the Rings Online.  He always made me laugh with his quick jokes and we had many fun times chatting and trying to solve all the world's problems lol.  He was loved by many in our on-line community and will be greatly missed.  I wish all of you the best in this difficult time.

Michael was a very caring man.  Very intelligent,interesting and well educated.  He cared about everyone tried to keep peace with everyone.  I loved his visits and conversations. He was alway caring of everyone and thier feelings.  He will be missed. xoxo

So sorry for  your loss.  So glad he came over the last time Penelope was here.  We had a great time with lots of laughs.

Wishing the family comfort during this difficult time.   My cousin was super smart and one of the nicest people I knew.   One distinct memory I have was when he visited us in Georgia and had his new Saab turbo!  He just had to take me for a ride.  I’m 8 years younger than him so my mother was very vocal about being careful with me in the car.  If you knew her, she had some pretty choice words for him before we left.  We had a blast on that drive.

I am several years younger than my cousin, but my childhood memories of Michael were when he came to visit us in Georgia. He would always make everyone laugh with his animated stories of life.   It was never a dull moment when he visited. May his soul rest in peace as he is reunited with his Mom, Dad, half brother and half sister. 

If you wanted a friend who cares, Mike is that guy!  He sincerely cared about people and would do all he could to support his family and friends!
Mike was also a passionate worker!  He knew his work, performed it with excellence, and was willing to share his knowledge and help others.  Finding a quality co-worker exceeding Mike's abilities, skill and energy would be tough!
