Mike also had a special place in his heart for his dogs—Adam, Kasper, Tyson, and Gabby. He enjoyed jokingly complaining about the shedding and the holes they dug, but he was truly heartbroken each time he lost one of them.
In his later years, one of his favorite pastimes was enjoying a cold Miller Lite while watching his beloved LSU Tigers play.
Mike’s greatest joy in life was being a grandfather. Nothing meant more to him than his visits with his granddaughter, Ava; they were always the highlight of his week.
He is survived by his loving wife and caregiver, Gerry Viverata Pocorello, whose unwavering love, selfless dedication, and constant comfort sustained him; his son, Michael (wife, Kelly); his
cherished granddaughter, Ava; and his sister, Angie.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Mary Marie Pocorello; his son, Patrick; his grandson, Vinnie Pocorello; his sisters, Virginia Pocorello and Janice Pocorello; and his brothers,
Jo and Sam Pocorello.
A private family service will be held at St. George Catholic Church.
The family extends sincere thanks to the staff and administrators at Audubon Hospice for their compassionate care and support.
