Mildred Agnes Sevin Strickland, a resident of Gonzales, went to be with her Lord and Savior Saturday, Dec. 29, 2007, at age 89. She left behind to cherish her memory sons, Randall Charles Strickland and wife Brenda and Larry Thomas Strickland and wife Linda; daughter, Gayle Marie Strickland Loupe; six grandchildren, Kelley Strickland Bourque and husband Boyd, Christopher Lance Strickland and wife Angie, Brian Charles Strickland, Brandi Leigh Strickland and boyfriend Brad LeBlanc, Ryan Gerard Loupe and fiancée Kayla Berthelot, and Holly Armand Fontenot and husband Lee; six great-grandchildren, Morgan Ashley Bourque, Brennan Wilson Bourque, Ashley Elizabeth Strickland, Kaeden Michael Loupe, Taylor Brennan Fontenot and Thomas Aulton Fontenot; and brother, L.J. Sevin Jr. Preceded in death by her loving husband, Wilson Leir Strickland; parents, Leonce John Sevin Sr. and Pauline Perkins; brothers, Joseph Willie Sevin, Paul Leonce Sevin and Wallace Peter Sevin Sr.; and sister, Eloise Sevin. She was a graduate of St. Joseph's Academy and member of St. Mark Catholic Church. She will be remembered for her extraordinary faith in God to see her through each day, and her love for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. An avid fan of LSU baseball and football, she rarely missed watching a game. Pallbearers will be Lance Strickland, Brian Strickland, Ryan Loupe, Lee Fontenot, Brad LeBlanc and Wallace P. Sevin Jr. Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Sunday, Dec. 30, was from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visitation resumes at St. Mark Catholic Church, Gonzales, on Monday from 12:30 p.m. until funeral Mass at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Joel LaBauve, celebrant. Entombment in St. George Mausoleum. The family wishes to thank the staffs of the emergency room at St. Elizabeth Hospital and Critical Care Acadian Ambulance.
