Molly Israel Lejeune, 39, went to Heaven on Monday July 19, 2021. She was born in Baton Rouge, La., September 8, 1981. She was the loving wife of Travis Lowel Lejeune for 7 years and adoring mother of Stafford Lowell (4) and Barlow Travis (2). She lifted our spirits as she entered the room making certain that you knew she loved you. Travis and their boys were not only her true loves, but the absolute lights of her life. She marveled at them at every moment. The three of them brought a smile to her face and a glow in her heart. She was blessed with strong support from her parents, Bob and Deanne Derbes Israel, Travis’s parents, Garrett and Karen Lebas Lejeune, and the boys Nanny, Ms. Betty. Her mother gave her the grace and poise that she beautifully carried with her and her father was a driving force behind her strong desire to succeed in all aspects of her life. These all enabled her to successfully build the strong business with her team at Morgan Stanley. Her passion for finance and intellectual strength coupled with her drive and business acumen truly benefitted the clients which she always referred to as friends and extended family. Molly was a graduate of Baton Rouge Magnet High School. She graduated with honors from Southern Methodist University, Dallas, Tx., where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority. Upon graduation, from SMU, she began her finance career at Lord Abbett in New York. A lifelong member of St. James Episcopal Church, Molly was the Vice President of the Associated Vestry and the Chair of the Investments Committee. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Richard J. Derbes of Metairie and Mr. and Mrs. Moise J. Israel of Bogalusa. In addition to her parents and Travis’s parents, Molly is survived by her brother, Robert C. Israel II (Lottie) and niece, Ellison of Covington, La., along with her uncles, aunts, and cousins. She will be forever missed by her countless, amazing friends. Visitation will be held in Bishops Hall on Monday morning, July 26, 2021 from 10:30-12:30, at St James Episcopal Church followed by a Mass of Christian Burial. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to St. James Episcopal Day School, Teach for America (Molly was once a Board member), Junior Achievement, Alzheimer Association, and Capital Area United Way.

The world was a better place for having had Molly in it. I loved Molly since the day I met her and I’m so shocked by this incomprehensible tragedy. I adore her (who couldn’t?) and my heart and prayers go out to her family, to Travis, and to her precious children.

Chris and I are deeply saddened by the loss of your daughter Molly. Even though we did not know her well through the years, we do know how deeply she was loved by her family. Bobby and Deanne, we grieve for you and send our love and condolences. I taught at St. James Day School many, many years ago and saw that Molly had attended school there....We have made a donation in her memory there. We will not be able to attend her service, but will be there in spirit. She was a beautiful young lady...taken too soon. Much love to all. God bless you and keep you strong through this time of sadness.

I had the privilege to work with Molly as a co-Associate at JPMorgan Chase and then as one of my financial advisers with the Manne-Lejeune team at Morgan Stanley. From a business perspective, I would turn my clients/prospects over to Molly while I was at JPM and never look back because I knew they were in the best of hands possible. She had it all: knowledge, confidence, wit, commitment, drive, passion......... I loved her quick wit and loved messing with her in fun. She gave it all back and you had to get up early to get something past her. Heaven's gain is our loss. I will be forever grateful that God allowed our paths to cross. I have loved reading all the comments from her friends. Those comments validate what a wonderful and unique soul we had in our presence. I believe we have all been blessed to know Molly and she will be greatly missed. I pray for God's peace, comfort and loving arms to be around her family and friends during this most tragic time knowing that Molly would comfort others. But I think she would say: "Enough of that, now let's celebrate!!!!" A simple thanks for God bringing her into my life!!!

Recently, one of Molly’s colleagues said that Molly was a shinning star. While Lee and I could not agree more with that assessment, we would be remiss if we did not add that Molly was on course to eclipse the North Star. That is how wonderful, talented, compassionate, and professional Molly was.

While Molly’s passing is most tragic, we prefer to think of how lucky we were to have Molly in our lives.

We thank the Good Lord for sharing Molly with us!

I remember Molly so well as a bright and happy young dancer at my studio. She had so much personality and always brought a smile to everyone’s face. I did not keep up with Molly except through Facebook and Instagram, but watching her grow into a beautiful woman and mother was a joy. I am so very sorry for your loss. All of her family will be in my thoughts and prayers.
