Montserrat"Mama"Ynglada Iturralde

Montserrat (Mama) Ynglada Iturralde, a native of Guantanamo, Cuba was called to heaven on Sunday, January 31st, 2016 at the age of 83. She was a beloved and greatly admired mother, aunt, grandmother, and great grandmother. "Mama", as aptly named by all who knew her, was dedicated to her husband and children, and she gave of herself selflessly to her family. She was an inspiration and loved by all who knew her. She was a dynamic matriarch of a close-knit family who taught her children and grandchildren to strive to be their best in their chosen field and to be good Christians in their life. She was a loving, caring and deeply religious woman who was young at heart and would bring smiles to everyone she met and was "always the life of the party". She was a longtime resident of Lakeland and Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She is survived by daughters: Bertha Taylor and husband Travis, Claire Lemoine and Lourdes Pecot and husband Jay, sons: Fernando Iturralde and Guillermo Iturralde, grandchildren: Autumn Rice and husband Jonathan, Leah Iturralde, Stephen Lemoine, Megan Iturralde, Elizabeth Lemoine, and Patrick Lemoine and great grandchildren Adler and Collin Rice; beloved sister Martha Mercade; nephews: Enrique Bru, Pablo Mercade, Ramon Mercade, Fernando Iturralde and Louis Mercade and nieces: Martha Mercade, Aimee Iturralde, Marianela Iturralde, Virginia Garcia and Iraida Loizzo and sister-in-law Miriam Iturralde. Montserrat was preceded in death by her husband, Guillermo A. Iturralde (the love of her life), son Jimmy Iturralde, father Juan Ynglada of Barcelona Spain, and mother, Natalia Munoz Ynglada of Cuba and brothers Jorge and Juan Ynglada also from Cuba. Visitation will be held on Thursday February 4th, 2016 at St. George Catholic Church at 10:00 AM until services at 11 AM. Interment will follow at St. George Cemetery. Pallbearers are Stephen and Patrick Lemoine, Enrique Bru, Pablo Mercade, Jay Pecot, Travis Taylor and Jonathan Rice. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Childrens Hospital in her honor.
