God called Mr. Murphy Harold Roberts home on March 7, 2018. He was born to Joel and Geneva Roberts on November 6, 1929 in New Llano, LA. He attended Leesville High school and L.S.U. Mr. Roberts met the love of his life, Jean Wilson, in Shreveport LA and they married in 1951. Their first son, Russell Wayne was born in Shreveport. His job with Mobil Oil took them to Alexandria, where their son, Gary Allen was born. The family then moved to Baton Rouge in 1959 where he assumed the job of Terminal Supt for Mobil. Later he would open The Blind Place.

He loved life, his family and friends, traveling and his church where he served on the Administrative Board and several committees through the years. He was always ready and willing to offer a helping hand to those in need.

He is survived by his wife, Jean, sons Dr. Russell Roberts (Debra) of Shreveport and Gary Roberts of Baton Rouge, granddaughters; Dr. Kelly Roberts of Fort Worth, Katy Roberts Polk of Dallas and Claire Roberts of Dallas; brother Joel Roberts (Rose) of Shreveport; brother-in-law, Wayne Herrington (Jane) of Starkville MS; niece, Renee Smith (Phillip); nephews, Stephen Herrington (Susan) and Tim Herrington (Gina); several great nieces and nephew; cousin Kay Couch and special friends of nearly 60 years, Shirley Pourciau, Hank van Deutekom, Bert and Caroline Daigle.
