Nancy Stackhouse Richards

February 14, 1933January 18, 2021

Nancy S. Richards went to her Heavenly home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, January 18, 2021. She was born on February 14, 1933, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, graduated from Baton Rouge High School, and worked for many years at the Baton Rouge Lenders Exchange. Nancy had a heart of gold and was always ready and willing to help those in need. She was affectionately known as Mom and Nana. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Cathy and Perry Sims; grandchildren and their spouses, Bryan and Kacie Sims, and Stephanie and Russ Bourque; six great grandchildren, Camille, Judah, Asher, and Selah Sims, and Logan and Wes Bourque; and brother, Wilton Richard Stackhouse. Not to be left out – Cali, our Corgi. They adored each other. Nancy is preceded in death by her husband, George William Richards; infant son, William Michael Richards; and sister, Margaret Ann Crause. We wish to thank her doctors who took such great care of her over the years – Dr. Douglas Say, Dr. Denzil Moraes, and Dr. Jack Loupe. We are also grateful for her Baton Rouge Hospice team – Cherly, Christi, Randle, and Roxy. And last but certainly not least, we send out a warm and heartfelt thank you to her extended family of outstanding caregivers – Wynette Bell, Olivia Winbush, and Gloria Poole. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Baton Rouge Hospice and OLOL Children’s Hospital. A mass of Christian burial will be held Thursday, January 21, at 10:30 am at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Brusly, 402 S Kirkland St, with a private burial.
