
Nicholas Jennings Lewis, a native of Baton Rouge and a geology student of the University of New Orleans, was entrusted to God's loving care on Saturday, June 16, 2007, in Monroe, as the result of an accident. He was the beloved 20-year-old son of James E. Lewis and Lisa Holzenthal Lewis of Baton Rouge. Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., on Thursday, June 21, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., with recitation of the rosary at 7 p.m. Visiting at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, 445 Marquette Ave., on Friday from 1 p.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 2 p.m. A celebration of his life will be held following the service at the Mercy Parish Activity Center across from the church. Friends are invited to bring photographs of Nick to share. Nicholas is survived by his parents; three brothers, Timothy, David and Jacob Lewis; and sister, Emily Anne Lewis. Also surviving him is his dear Mamaw, Betty Folse Bennett Lewis. He also leaves to grieve his beloved and best friend, Ashley Norris of Monroe, and her parents, Dr. Steve and Deborah Norris; his godmother, Diane Holzenthal Kraft; godfather, Robert C. Lewis; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, adopted moms and special friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Rita Vinet Holzenthal and Paul Marcus Holzenthal and Dr. James Willard Lewis. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to St. Vincent de Paul Society at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 445 Marquette Ave., Baton Rouge, LA 70806.
