Nita Kidd Harris died on December 2, 2021 at the age of 99. She was preceded in death by her parents, Shelby Earl Kidd and Eddith Cason Kidd of Baton Rouge, her first husband, Thomas Cole Main of San Antonio, Texas, her second husband, Dr. Milton L. Harris of Baton Rouge, her brother Edwin Cason Kidd of Fort Worth, Texas, her sister Florence Gregorie of Baton Rouge, her beloved sons Thomas Cole Main, Jr., and Shelby Hayes Main Harris of Baton Rouge, and a grandson Thomas Cole Main, III of Shreveport, Louisiana. Her survivors include her son, Dr. Milton L. Harris, Jr. of New Orleans, daughters-in-law Christine Thompson Harris of Baton Rouge and Julia Jackson Main of Orange Beach, Alabama, grandchildren Hayes Main Harris and his wife Jill of Birmingham, Alabama, Christine Harris Roux and her husband Stephan Roux of Baton Rouge, Julia Anne Lanier Harris of New Orleans and great-grandchild Shelby Roux. She was born in Baton Rouge on July 9, 1922. She was a graduate of Newcomb College in New Orleans, a member of Chi Omega, the Junior League, the Philistoria, the Colonial Dames and many other social and cultural clubs and organizations. She was a long-time member of the First Presbyterian Church of Rouge. Visitation will be at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, Government Street, on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. Burial will be private. Honorary pallbearers include Prentiss Gregorie, Isaac M. Gregorie, Jr., Dirk Burton, Stephan Roux, George Kurz, Phil Martin, Dr. Stephen Sessums, Robert Obier, Dr. O.M. Thompson, Jr. and O.M. Thompson, III.
