
"I am home in heaven, dear ones; Oh, so happy and so bright! There is perfect joy and beauty In this everlasting light." Our beloved mother, sister, aunt, granny and friend was delivered safe in the arms of her Lord and Savior on Monday, Feb. 26, 2007. She was a resident of Southside Gardens Assisted Living. Her kind, gentle demeanor was appreciated by all who knew her. Her favorite pastimes included sewing, watching "Wheel of Fortune" and defeating all opponents at Scrabble. She delighted in making homemade rolls for family gatherings. At Christmas, Granny filled her tins with divinity, fudge and pralines. For her beloved grandchildren, an everlasting sparkle filled her eyes. Preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, John Samuel Mayeux; parents, George and Nita Langlois; and grandson, Micah John Campbell. Survived by her children, John and Nancy Mayeux,St. Petersburg, Fla., John and Patti Campbell,Fishersville, Va., Mark and Teresa Mayeux, Prairieville, Tom and Mary Claire Mayeux, Denham Springs, Pete and Mary Sullivan, Baton Rouge, and George and Mona Mayeux,BreauxBridge; and 15 adoring grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Visitation at St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church, 9150 Highland Road, on Thursday, March 1, from 9 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m., with the Rev. Tony Russo, celebrant.
