

Was born March 18, 1936, in Springfield, Illinois. She died August 23, 2016 at St. Clare Manor in Baton Rouge. She was preceded in death by her parents, Florence Wood and John C. Kuster, her grandparents Mary Seiler and Charles Kuster,and Pauline Fraham and Charles Householder Wood, and pets Tiny, Trixie, Dorothy, P.G., and Exonia.
She is survived by son and daughter-in-law Charles E. and Beth G. Rossman, and their 9 children (Johanna, Joseph, Nathanael, William, Jacob, Gideon, Naomi, Thomas and Annamaria); daughter Kathleen Rossman; sister and brother-in-law Helen and Charles Moeser; brother- and sister-in-law Will and Kathy Rossman; and friend Judith A. Schiebout.
Nita lived in 4 states (Illinois, Missouri, Florida, North Carolina) before coming to Baton Rouge in 1963. She graduated from LSU in 1970 in General Studies after 5 institutions and 15 years. In 1984 she went back to take math, science, and 20th century novel classes. In 1996 she joined the LSU Lagniappe program where there are no tests.
Her funeral is at the University Presbyterian Church at 3240 Dalrymple Drive, Baton Rouge at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 27 with 2:00 p.m. viewing and visitation. She will be buried in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Springfield, Illinois with her paternal grandparents.
