

A longtime resident of Baton Rouge, she passed away Friday, April 22, 2011, at Landmark of Baton Rouge where she was a resident for the last year. She was born in St. Martinville on June 30, 1915, near the Evangeline Oak. She was 95. Visitation at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., on Monday, April 25, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visitation continues at the funeral home chapel on Tuesday, April 26, from 10 a.m. until the religious service at noon, conducted by the Rev. Ron Lambe. Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Dewey M. Birch, who died in 2005. She is survived by two sons, Wayne B. Birch and wife Nancy R. Birch, and Barry H. Birch and wife Linda S. Birch; two brothers, William Livingston and Robert Livingston; five grandchildren, Karen Wales, Donna May, Scott Birch, Brian Birch and Melissa Harris; and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, George H. and Laurence B, Livingston; five sisters, Norma Livingston, Leone Fournet, Velma Bernard, Mattie Dunn and Bessie Markham; and three brothers, AI Livingston, Ward Livingston and Lawrence Livingston. Pallbearers will be Brian Birch, Scott Birch, Robert Wales, Darryl May, Craig Harris, and Larry Dunn. She was a longtime faithful member and teacher at Istrouma Baptist Church.
