A retired officer with the Louisiana Department of Revenue&Taxation and a former East Baton Rouge Parish school bus driver, she died at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 27, 2008, at Bay Breeze Nursing Home, Gulf Breeze, Fla. She was 75 and a native and former resident of Baton Rouge. Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Thursday, Oct. 30, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Cryptside service at Roselawn Memorial Park Mausoleum, on Friday at 11 a.m., conducted by Deacon Esnard Gremillion. Survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, Reid and Pat Penton, Baton Rouge, Randy and Linda Penton, Olive Branch, Miss., and Bertran Penton, Alexandria, Va.; sister, Betty Lou DeArmond, Baton Rouge; and seven grandchildren. Preceded in death by a daughter, Jeri Kay Penton Wicks; and parents, Peter Bertran Wallace and Alix Gautreaux Wallace. She was a former member of St. Pius X Catholic Church.
