

"Norman Wayne Danford, 59, died suddenly at home on February 23, 2018 in Gainesville, VA. He is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, René Cupit, teenage children Michael Wayne and Kathryn "Katie" Michele Danford, mother-in-law Betty Cupit, brother-in-law Conrad (Tracie) Cupit, and nephew Jordan Cupit. Norm was born October 18, 1958 in Corpus Christi, TX, the only child of the late Cecil Wayne and Gaylene Vogt Danford. The family moved to Baton Rouge when he was two. He graduated from Tara High School and LSU and spent his career in IT Management. Norman was a caring, gentle, compassionate, generous man who was devoted to his loved ones. Norman was a lifelong, avid bowler beginning at a young age with his parents. He continued to enjoy the sport by participating in several leagues over the years. He was a former Louisiana state doubles champion recently bowling a perfect 300 game. Norm competed in several tournaments each year, including the USBC Nationals. Norm loved to read, enjoyed cruises, and was a passionate fan of the LSU Tigers and New Orleans Saints. Norm's life will be celebrated in his hometown of Baton Rouge on Saturday, June 30th, at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 11000 Florida Blvd. Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. with a memorial service at 4 p.m. followed by a Reception buffet from 4:30 -7:30 p.m.
