

Pam was preceded in death by her parents, E.C. “Slim” Nettles and Lois Spillman Nettles, and her brother, Stephen C. Nettles.
She is survived by her three daughters and their families: Cristy Browning Heck and husband Wallace; Nicki Browning Stewart and husband Robert; and Dara Browning Vandever and husband Jimmy.
Pam was a proud grandmother to Orrin Fontenot Sr. (Gabriel), Tyler Fontenot (Bridget), Chase Christiansen (Laura Catherine), Tripp Heck (Rachel), Ethan Charlson (Camron), and Owen Charlson. She was also blessed with eight great-grandchildren.
Pam loved the outdoors and especially cherished time fishing and being at the family camp on Graveyard Island, a place she considered paradise. Known for her strong will, sharp opinions and fierce love for her family, Pam was deeply protective of the people she loved. After raising her daughters, Pam built an impressive professional career in the medical malpractice field, ultimately becoming a co-owner of a medical malpractice insurance company in Florida known for its innovative underwriting of physicians. Her success in business reflected her determination and resilience.
After the company was sold, she retired and returned home to Louisiana to care for her mother. Pam lived life with strength, independence, and a deep devotion to her family. She will be remembered for her tenacity, her candid spirit, and the lasting impact she had on those who knew and loved her.
Services will be Tuesday, March 17 at Greenoaks Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. until service at 10:30 a.m. Burial at Greenoaks will be immediately following service. Pallbearers will be Orrin Fontenot, Tyler Fontenot, Ethan Charlson, Owen Charlson, Chase Christiansen and Tripp Heck.
The family would like to give thanks to Pam’s caregivers and friends, Pat Jones, Janice Washington and Charles Floyd.
