Pamela Gassaway McNicol passed away on January 4th, 2025, at the age of 58. She was born in Shreveport LA, on April 22nd, 1966. When she was six years old, she was diagnosed with Juvenile onset diabetes. It was not an easy journey for her, but as she aged her strength and determination along with her belief in God was amazing. She eventually had to go on dialysis three days a week, then came a triple bypass, two leg amputations and many other complications. She finally lost her battle with diabetes after having a hand surgery that led to an infection that her body was too weak to fight. She passed away at Baton Rouge General shortly following the surgery. Pam will be remembered for her beautiful smile and infectious laugh. She loved her son, grandson, and dog Gracie more than anything.
Pam is survived by her parents, Butch and Ann Gassaway; son, Jason Keith McNicol (Valerie); grandson, Skyler McNicol; brother, Michael Gassaway (Trish); and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to Broadmoor United Methodist Church and The Kidney Foundation in her name.
