

"Patricia Norman Brockway, 90, passed away on Wednesday, January 25th in Metairie, LA. Pat was a native of Alexandria, LA and long-time resident of Baton Rouge. She lived in Metairie for the last two years. Pat is survived by her daughter, Nancy Brockway of Atlanta, her son, William Robert Brockway, Jr. and daughter-in-law, Ronelle Brockway of Metairie, two granddaughters, Isabella Brockway and Rebekah Brockway, nephew, Arturo Muller of Panama, R.P., nieces Patricia Casey of Metairie and Terri Dwyer of Portland, OR and numerous great-nieces, great-nephews and a great-great niece. She is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, William Robert Brockway, her sisters, Beverly Muller and Nina DeSautel, and her parents, Dr. and Mrs. Nicholas Norman. Pat was a graduate of Stephens College, Columbia, MO and Louisiana State University, where she was a member of Phi Mu Fraternity. Pat worked as the office manager for her husband's architectural practice, was a long-term substitute teacher at Tara High School and later worked as chief accountant at Our Lady of Lake Regional Medical Center. Pat was a lover of the arts and patron of the Baton Rouge Opera, Opera Louisiane, LSU Opera, and the Louisiana Sinfonietta. Pat was also an avid follower of politics and served as Special Assistant to Louisiana Congresswoman Cathy Long. Pat lived life to its fullest and always enjoyed a good party. She second-lined through the French Quarter in May following her great-nephew's wedding and celebrated her 90th birthday in November surrounded by friends and family. The family wishes to thank the staff of Sunrise Assisted Living in Metairie who cared for her the last two years, allowing her to continue to live a full and satisfying life. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am, Tuesday, January 31st, at St. James Episcopal Church, Baton Rouge. The family will receive visitors in the parish hall at 9:30 am. Interment will take place at 12:30 pm at the Louisiana National Cemetery in Zachary.
