Honor her for all that her hands have done.” ― Proverbs 31: 25 and 31 Patsy David Fontenot of Baton Rouge, LA, passed away Saturday, September 25, 2021, at the age of 78. Born November 23, 1942 in New Roads, LA, she was the daughter of Lionel David and Mildred St. Romain David. Patsy is preceded in death by her devoted husband of 60 years, Glynn J. Fontenot; and her loving son, David W. Fontenot. She was loving mother to her daughter, Roxanne Fontenot Brown, son-in-law, Robert Brown, daughter, Elizabeth Fontenot; proud grandmother to Brett Brown Kyle, grandson-in-law, Ryan Kyle, grandson Jarrod Brown; and beaming great-grandmother to great-grandson, Rory Kyle and great-granddaughter, Blake Kyle. She is also survived by her caring sister, Lynda David Wheat. Patsy was a graduate of Redemptorist High School class of 1960, long time active member of St. Pius X Catholic Church and both active and auxiliary member of the Legion of Mary. Patsy was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and wife, homemaker and caregiver, friend to all she met and humble servant of the Lord. Patsy enjoyed spending time with her family, her friends, gardening, cheering on the tigers, caring for those who needed help and she lived her life with a compassionate and generous heart – a servant’s heart. Special thank you to her guardian angel, Shay, for all your care and kindness over the last few months, Ochsner Cancer Services and the nurses and staff of St. Joseph Hospice. In lieu of flowers, please donate to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or St. Joseph Hospice of Baton Rouge. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA, on Sunday, October 3, 2021, from 4:00PM to 6:00PM. Visitation will resume on Monday, October 4, 2021, at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, 445 Marquette Ave., Baton Rouge, LA, from 9:00AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30AM. The rosary will be recited at 10:00AM. Burial will immediately follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA.
