"She was born on June 27, 1930 and passed away peacefully on January 31, 2019 at the age of 88. She was a native of Baton Rouge, La. and resided in Zachary, La. She is preceded in death by parents Alpha Cox Harrell and Lawrence Hamilton Harrell and her son Michael Palmer, Grandson Steven Palmer and Great grandson Ian Palmer. She is survived by her son James Patrick (Jim Pat) Palmer and wife Rhonda and Jim's sister Karen Palmer Grzybowski. She will be missed as Granny Pat by her Grandchildren, Jeffrey Palmer & wife Lydia, Travis Palmer & wife Rachel, Jake Palmer & wife Amy. She also had ten Great-Grandchildren, Chris Haltom and Lukas, Dylan, Nick, Brady, Olivia, Sophie, Elise, Julia and Hogan Palmer. She was a graduate of Baton Rouge High School and retired as a Legal Secretary after many years of service. She loved live music and dancing, she had a green thumb and spent time growing many plants, admired hummingbirds, she enjoyed reading, shopping, watching the Travel Channel, swimming, fancy coffee, dressing up, collecting tea cups & tea pots and spending New Year's weekend with her dear friends Yvonne & Billie in New Orleans. The family also wishes to thank her life-long friend Yvonne & the late Billie Arellano for being such a big part of her life and we would also like to thank her devoted cousin Rose Louise Harrell for all of the time you spent with Pat over the years. Also, the family would like to thank the staff of Lane Nursing Home in Zachary for the care they had given her over the last few years. Visiting will be at Rabenhorst Funeral Home at 825 Government Street in Baton Rouge on Friday, February 8, 2019 from 9:00 until 11:00 a.m., with a service following conducted by Oren Conner. Then she will be laid to rest at Roselawn Cemetery in Baton Rouge. Pallbearers will be James, Jeffrey, Travis and Jake Palmer and Mark Vicenik.
