Patti was born on August 17, 1953, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to the late C.L. “Buddy” “Jeff” Jeffers and Ida “Boo” Jeffers. A lifelong Louisianan, Patti dedicated her life to serving others—most notably through her decades-long career as a beloved teacher and coach. She taught adapted physical education, physical education, and kindergarten, and coached for over 30 years. Patti inspired and mentored generations of students and players, many of whom credit her with shaping their lives both on and off the field.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 52 years, Stan Guedry, with whom she shared a deep and enduring love. Together, they built a beautiful life centered around family, laughter, and adventure. She leaves behind her beloved daughters: Brandi Austin (Josh), Sherri Guedry (Katie), and LeeAnn Guedry (Lynn); and her treasured grandchildren: Bailey, Adrianna, Caden, August, and Hendrix; and great-grandchild Asher.
Patti is also survived by her sisters Brenda Odom and Cindy Jeffers-Delaughter, and preceded in death by her siblings Jeff Jeffers, Terri Jeffers and granddaughter Sloan.
Patti had a passion for the outdoors—she loved fishing, hunting, camping, carving with the Pelican Wood Carvers and traveling with her loved ones. Whether gathered around a campfire or exploring new places, she created memories that will be cherished forever. She also enjoyed volunteering her time at the LSU Rural Life Museum, where her love of history and community service found a home.
She was a wonderful mother and grandmother, fiercely competitive, endlessly supportive, and known for her warm smile and friendly heart. Patti loved deeply and laughed often—especially alongside her beloved Stan, the love of her life.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank-you to St. Joseph Hospice for their compassion and care during Patti’s final days.
A celebration of Patti’s life will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2025 from 9:30 a.m.-11:00a.m, with service beginning at 11:00 a.m. at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. All who knew and loved her are invited to attend and honor her incredible life.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Patti’s memory to Alzheimer’s Services of the Capital Area.
Though she is no longer with us, Patti’s legacy of love, strength, and kindness–and the lives she touched as a teacher, coach, and friend—will live on for generations to come.
