

A retired operator with Formosa Plastics, he died at 1:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 11, 2010, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center-Mid City. He was 83, a native of Plaquemine Point and a resident of Baton Rouge. He was an Army veteran of World War II, having served in Germany with a mechanized calvary unit. Visitation at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Friday, Feb. 12, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visitation at St. Louis King of France Catholic Church on Saturday from 9 a.m. until a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Jack Nutter, celebrant. Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park. The family invites everyone to a reception immediately following burial at Greenoaks Life Celebration Center. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Bonnie Gautreaux Granada. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Vincent and Annie Granada; a son, Kenneth Granada; and two sisters, Stella G. "Lou" Browning and Lucy Ann Granada Richard. He was a member of St. Louis King of France Catholic Church, American Legion, Knights of Columbus and Progressive Men's Club. For many years Paul served as member of St. Louis King of France Ushers Society. His generosity and participation in service to his church was revered by his fellow Ushers. He was also a member of U.C.T. and long time member of local council #499 having attained honor of Senior Counselor after 6 years on the Executive Board. At the time of his death Paul was elevated to 6th year term on Miss-LA Grand Jurisdication Board. Next May at the Grand Convention Paul was due to be elected to Grand Counselor for the Miss.-La. Jurisdication. This is a coveted honor.The family would like to give special thanks to good and faithful friends, Alex and Sybil Hunt during a time of need.
