He was a native of Baton Rouge and a resident of Port Allen for the past 33 years. Rusty was a graduate of Baton Rouge High School. He was a retired internal auditor for CBI.
Rusty loved LSU sports and enjoyed listening to his collection of classic rock music. In his retirement, he enjoyed maintaining his yard and was meticulous with his landscaping. Throughout his life, Rusty was an avid supporter of organized union labor and long-standing member of UA Local 198 Plumbers and Steamfitters.
A loyal husband, father and grandfather, Rusty would always step up in times of need, often lending words of support and wisdom.
Rusty is survived by his devoted wife of 46 years Mary Gale Marino, daughter Danielle Nicholson (Eric), granddaughters Hannah and Addison Pittman.
Preceded in death by his father, Robert Viger, Sr., Mother, Margaret “Bonnie” Bonnecaze and brother, Steven.
Visitation will be on Thursday, October 1 at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, 445 Marquette Ave., at 9 am with Mass at 10 am. Burial immediately following at Greenoaks Memorial Park, 9595 Florida Blvd. in Baton Rouge.
